Tecumseh H.O.G.® – The First 5 Years

The Beginning – 2010

The beginning of our chapter was a result of the unfortunate closing of Ann Arbor Harley Davidson and the end of the Ann Arbor chapter of the Harley Owners Group. Some of the members of that charter wanted to continue with a riding group and were instrumental in starting our new Tecumseh chapter.

Tecumseh Harley Owners Group was officially affiliated with the National Harley Owners Group on November 17, 2010. The inaugural meeting for this newly formed group was held on December 11, 2010.  There were a total of 27 people in attendance at this first meeting.

This was the start of the club that we are now, where the enjoyment of riding and having fun with friends is happily shared. We plan to continue into the future with the idea that this club will grow ever larger with more memorable rides to be shared by all the members and people involved.

The following officers led the inaugural meeting:

Director: Bob Bushroe
Assistant Director: Dan Kofahl
Secretary: Becky Liedel
Treasurer: Larry Liedel

When told that this new club would need a U.S, flag, Lauren Frye was able to get the USO to donate one to us. It is the one we presently use.

The first officers’ meeting was held on January 5, 2011. Both the Director and Assistant Director resigned.  Jesse Love was nominated for Director and Brenda Sutton was nominated for Assistant Director. These nominees were presented to Tom Petitto, owner of Tecumseh Harley Davidson, for approval as his approval was required for them to be installed in their respective positions.
